Across the Austin Healey 100-Six and 3000 range, the bumper over-riders remain a prominent part of the car's front and rear appearance. A replacement can have an excellent chrome finish and still look wrong if the underlying pressing loses the flat surfaces, centre groove and definition of the original design, so A H Spares developed dedicated CAD-modelled, CNC-machined tooling from original measurements. The resulting BN4-BJ8 over-rider is pressed from original-gauge steel, combining the correct profile with the substantial construction needed to help retain the low-speed impact protection intended in the bumper arrangement.
Accurate Bumper Over-Rider for Austin Healey BN4-BJ8
Made for Austin Healey 100-Six and 3000 models from BN4 through to BJ8, this over-rider covers the later Big Healey range and is supplied complete with its fixing bolt and seal.
Manufactured by A H Panels using dedicated tooling, it reproduces the defined bumper over-rider profile while retaining original-gauge steel construction and a triple-plated Premium British Chrome finish.
Tooled from the Original Over-Rider Design
The tooling was produced from a CAD model based on measurements taken from the original design. CNC machining allowed the defining features of the pressing to be reproduced accurately, including the flat top, flat bottom, centre groove, side definition and the profile where the over-rider meets the bumper.
Pressing the over-rider from original-gauge steel is important for more than visual accuracy. It helps reproduce the strength and substance of the original component, supporting the low-speed impact protection intended as part of the front and rear bumper arrangement.

Correct Bumper Detail Across the BN4-BJ8 Range
Whether fitted to a 100-Six or a later 3000, the over-rider needs the right underlying shape before the chrome can look right. The dedicated pressing reproduces the defined original-style profile, while original-gauge steel provides the substantial construction expected from the bumper assembly and helps retain its intended low-speed impact protection.
The triple-plated Premium British Chrome finish then completes the over-rider with the depth and lustre appropriate to this highly visible part of the car.
