Front flexible brake hose for Austin Healey BN1, BN2, BN4 and BN6 models. This hose connects the chassis brake pipe to the front wheel cylinder or caliper, allowing full suspension and steering movement while maintaining hydraulic pressure.
Fits: BN1 (1953–1956), BN2 (1955–1956), BN4 (1956–1959), BN6 (1958–1959).
Excludes: BN7, BT7, BJ7 and BJ8 models. Not suitable for non-standard aftermarket brake conversions unless the original BN1-BN6 hose specification is retained.
Early BN1 cars (including 4-stud models) must be checked to confirm original hose configuration, as many cars have been updated during restoration.
Sealing washers are not included. Where a banjo fitting is used, order the required copper brake hose washer separately.
After installation, the brake system must be fully bled and checked under pedal pressure. For single-person brake or clutch bleeding, the Gunson’s Eezibleed kit provides a controlled pressure-bleeding solution.
Brake hoses should always be replaced in axle pairs to maintain balanced braking performance.
This hose follows original routing and fitting specification for BN1-BN6 models, ensuring correct clearance through full suspension travel without stretching or twisting.
Yes, provided the braking system remains to original BN1 specification. Always confirm the existing hose end type before ordering.
It is suitable only where the conversion retains the original BN1-BN6 hose length and fitting type.
Yes. Any banjo-type fitting requires new copper sealing washers to ensure a reliable hydraulic seal.
