I can no longer enter and exit the car at such a low position due to recent hip surgery and knee issues. The new owner could not wish for a car that is in any better condition than this Austin Healey BJ8 3000. I am sure this car would be up amongst the best in any car show in Qld. Unfortunately, I have not been able to present this car in any shows. Delivered new to the USA in 1967, this 3000 Mk III Phase III was one of last 300 produced and was originally delivered with Colorado Red bodywork. Heritage certificate from the British Motor Museum will be provided upon purchase of the vehicle. Purchased from the Healey factory in 2014.The car now presents in Golden Beige with 72 spoke Dayton wide wheels, and a re-trimmed red leather interior.To compliment a new bur warmer dashboard, a 15 inch Motolita wood rimmed steering wheel has also been fitted. All gauges and trim have been refurbished or replaced. Structurally a new Killmartin reinforced chassis has been used with significant upgrades for a higher performance suspension. Further chassis webbing was added for extra strength. There are so many extras and upgrades which are too many to list, here are the main ones. • Austin Healy BJ8 3000 MK III • Immaculately restored in 2021. • Engine, gearbox and diff all restored to as new. Engine blockboard and new pistons, bearings fitted. • Triple 2.0 inch SU carburetor's fitted. All three carburetors restored by SU Midel. • Alloy sump and tappet cover installed along with new oil filter conversion to allow for modern oil filters. • All new wiring harness, electronic ignition and air conditioning installed. New wiper motor, exhaust extractors fitted. • New crossbar main lights and spotlights fitted along with all new stop and indicator lenses. • All chrome work restored to highest of quality where chrome work could not be restored new items were purchase e.g. door handles and bumper bars. • All new side windows and front laminated windscreen. • New aluminium petrol tank, alloy fliptop fuel filler cap and lithium ion start battery. • Rear drum brakes upgraded to disk brakes. • Lap seat belts fitted. • Right hand drive converted from left hand drive during restoration. • New mohair soft-top installed to compliment the luxurious finish of the car. Every nut, bolt and screw has been removed and replaced on this vehicle. If car is purchased in Qld the personalized number plate BJ8 3000 will be supplied in purchase price of car. If purchased outside of Qld or international the number plate will not be sold with the vehicle. This car has been restored by Peter Janetski from J.H. Classic Restorations at Yatala on the Gold Coast. Peter is well known for his exceptional restoration of older vehicles. My opinion is this is one of his best.
