Last month we were very proud to invite former
Managing Director, Bob Hill and his
fellow Director, Gordon Barton to visit our revamped showroom which we
completed during lockdown. Bob and Gordon ran the company from 1983 To 2013
taking the business to new heights with printed catalogues, websites and
developing our in-house manufacturing units, A H Panels and Trim Shop.
We were also blessed that our founder, Fred
Draper’s daughter, Carol visited us to admire her father’s legacy. Carol kindly
loaned us Fred’s business card, tie pin and a ‘Healeys and Austin-Healeys’ book
signed personally by Donald Healey himself. Carol reminisced about when her
father set up the business and how she would have parts such as springs, stored
under her bed. She also enjoyed looking through the Cardex system (originally
used at the D.H.M.C) which she used to assist keeping up to date when she
worked for her father on Saturdays.
We are very proud of our past and family heritage
and are looking forward to celebrating our 50th year in 2022. Since
our doors opened, our focus has always been on the enjoyment and pride of
Austin Healey motoring. We shall continue to deliver the best possible service
to our customers and promote the classic car industry for generations to come.
