Description 1956 Austin-Healey 100 BN2 – Owned by one family
* Chassis Number: BN2-L / 230092
* Batch/Body Number: 5593 / 11358
* Engine Number: 1B / 230092-M
* Date of Build: 19 December, 1955
* Color: Healey Blue
* Odometer: 68,048 miles The car’s Chassis, Body, and Engine numbers are proved to be
matching by the British Motor Industries, Heritage Trust. This 1956 Austin-Healey 100 BN2 was purchased new at
Wisconsin Auto Sales in Milwaukee by my father, who passed away in 2006. She was handed down to me, and in October 2009,
I engaged the late, great Gary Olsen to perform a (well-documented) rotisserie
restoration. Since I wanted to drive
this Healey without too much anxiety, I had no desire to restore her to
Concours specs. However, the guidelines
were followed to try to conform to factory specs; she is complete, accurate, and
gorgeous! She also sports a re-creation
of the racing stripe that was added by my father in the late 1950s, which makes
her quite unique. She starts eagerly,
runs great, sounds like a proper Healey, turns heads, and receives honks,
waves, smiles, and thumbs-ups. She is
also a joy to drive (with the exception of the drum brakes, but that is a my issue…I could have installed front disc brakes, but I did not). Gary used top quality parts and accessories throughout the
project and also engaged the following specialists: * Engine rebuild: JAMR Racing
Engines (Loves Park, IL)
* Carburetor rebuild: Bob Johnson (Claremore, OK)
* Lever shock rebuild: World Wide Auto Parts of
Madison (WI)
* Lucas horn rebuild: British
Car Part Restoration (Medfield, MA)
* Chrome re-plating: Quality Plating (Sterling, IL) The project was completed in September 2012. I recently chronicled the history of this
Austin-Healey in a blog post: https://kellyevenson.com/austin-healey-100-bn2/ Veteran members of the Midwest chapter of the Austin-Healey Club of America may be
familiar with this car (I was a member of this club before moving to Texas in
2020). Others may have seen the Healey
at the 2019 Conclave in Deadwood, SD, where she was awarded “First in Class” at
the car show.
I will be attending Conclave 2024 in Elkhart
Lake, WI. If the Healey has not yet sold (or
if someone has purchased the car and wants to pick her up in WI), I will be
trailering the car to the event. Notes * Tires: 165HR15 Vredestein Sprint Classic
Blackwall
* Car is currently located in Texas (USA) and has a clean
Texas title
* With the exception of the steering wheel (please
see next note), there are no interior or exterior scratches, dings, or dents
* The steering wheel has a few scratches that
appeared sometime/somehow since moving to Texas (Gary had beautifully
refurbished the original). Please see
detailed photo. If you do not want to
repair the original steering wheel, we do have a 1955 100 BN1 steering wheel
available as a replacement.

This folder contains photos displayed in the listing, with the added ability to zoom in on
each. The photos were taken 30 July,

which show the Healey with the windscreen down, as well as a few with the top

Video showing car start-up and drive around parking lot, filmed on 27 July, 2024.
If you can tolerate my background banter and
giddy laughter (Healey excitement), watch these two videos filmed on the same
day in August 2012 … the first time the Healey had been driven in 40
years. About a month after these videos were taken,
the restoration was complete, and I drove the car home.
